Welcome to Calvert’s Middle School!

Since 2003, we have sought to provide an engaging, enriching, and safe learning environment for emerging adolescent girls and boys. Building on the firm foundations of Calvert’s elementary school, the Fifth through Eighth Grades will continue their pursuit of mastery of basic skills. In addition, Middle Schoolers will grow as individuals, developing an appreciation for intellectual pursuits, while flourishing within a community that upholds and celebrates its shared values.

In the 2011-2012 school year, we will emphasize in particular those character traits most closely associated with a person’s wellness: compassion, responsibility, respect, service. Whether competing in sports, participating in community outreach, or mentoring a younger student, Middle School students will strive to adhere to these values in their words and actions.

I am deeply humbled to have the honor of working with your middle school children this year. I have experienced the joy of discovering what a special place our Middle School is. This is only possible when exceptionally gifted children, supported by loving parents, are led by kind and talented adult guides.
