HomeFinancial Aid

Calvert School is committed to providing tuition assistance on the basis of family need. To assist in identifying families with financial need, Calvert utilizes the services of FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment to collect basic financial information.

Using FACTS' Grant & Aid Assessment as a guide, both Calvert School and FACTS prepare a need analysis that suggests the amount a family can contribute towards educational costs. Information gathered by FACTS provides the Calvert School Financial Assistance Committee with a starting point for determining how much financial assistance will be offered. It is important that applicants address all financial assistance documents with total disclosure and candor.

Families receiving financial assistance must reapply each year to maintain their assistance. Any significant changes in income may affect the amount of the grant.

Components of Consideration

  • Total family income
  • IRS forms and schedules
  • Number of children in family
  • Number of children attending tuition charging schools
  • Net worth
  • Number of cars, recreational vehicles, and boats
  • Discretionary expenditures

Statistics

  • 22% of our students receive tuition assistance
  • Grants range from 5% to 95% of tuition with an average grant of $9,300in 2011-12
  • Approximately $1,330,000 in tuition assistance was awarded in 2011-12

Although individual family financial circumstances differ, the following table illustrates the average family contribution per student by income level of students enrolled during the 2009-10 school year.
