Calvert's Middle School News- February 3, 2012
February 3, 2012Dear Middle School Parents,
Please visit our Middle School Blog at http://calvertmiddleschool.blogspot.com/ to see photos and video highlights of International Week, including special assemblies, cultural presentations, and student and teacher fun! We are so very grateful to our volunteer helpers and organizers who made this week a festive and enriching one for all.
February brings the start of long-term research projects in all four grades. Several of these are traditional Calvert projects, including the 5th Grade Country Report and 8th Grade Castalia Project. Over the course of the next two months, students will begin background reading, note-taking, bibliography and outline design, and formal essay writing. Proper techniques and guidelines with regard to on-line research will be emphasized. Look for more details from your child’s social studies and/or English teacher in the coming weeks.
