High School Night is a Success

Calvert hosted its ninth High School Night on Tuesday, October 7th, and by all accounts, it was a huge success. Admission representatives from more than 40 local and national high schools were in attendance to meet Calvert’s Seventh and Eighth Grade students and promote their schools. Also in attendance were many Calvert alumni, representing their high schools by speaking with students and parents about their personal experiences.
The purpose of the evening is two-fold. For Seventh Grade students and families, this is an opportunity to see the variety of secondary school options that await the children. They are also able to meet and talk with Admissions representatives from a variety of schools that they may not otherwise explore. For Eighth Grade students and parents, who are further into the high school selection process, High School Night provides an opportunity to narrow their choices, network with admission staff, and speak with current students.

Jenn Yapsuga, Upper School Placement Coordinator, enjoys the event because “I get to see past students and hear how much they are loving their new schools. Everyone feeds off of the positive energy!”

Year after year, the high school admissions representatives say how much they love coming to Calvert’s High School Night because they are always impressed by the caliber of our students.
