Student Artists Inspired by Alumni Art Donation
The Eighth Grade students just completed a unit on landscape painting in Mrs. Kamp’s art class. The class was a partnership with local artist, David Cunningham, who shared his passion for landscape painting with the class and helped them created their own masterpieces, using work from the recently donated collection of Charles “Charlie” B. Reeves, Jr. ’35.
Earlier in the year, Mr. Reeves created provisions in his will to leave his personal art collection to Calvert School as a legacy gift. Charlie’s impressive art collection features more than 20 paintings from leading Maryland artists, including David Cunningham.
