Cyber Safety Expert Makes Impact on Students & Parents
National speaker, Richard Guerry, visited Calvert on Tuesday and Wednesday to deliver three high-energy presentations to Middle School students and parents on responsible use of technology and social media.
He shared both the potential pitfalls and benefits of ever-changing devices and social media platforms while giving timeless strategies everyone can apply to minimize the chances that they could face a “self-inflicted digital challenge.” His basic message was to create a mindset for always considering if you want anything you do or say online or on a digital device becoming “public and permanent.” Students will engage in follow-up discussions within their advisories over the next few weeks.
