Four Calvert Students Complete a 40-Mile Hike
Four Calvert students completed Boy Scout Troop #35’s Monumental Hike, a 40 mile journey from D.C.’s Washington Monument along the C&O Canal Trail. The 52nd annual 40-miler took place on April 23.
Tenth Ager Clara Dawn, the first girl in her age group to finish, completed the race in 9 hours and 16 minutes. This is the third year she has participated. Clara’s siblings and cousins also participated. Congratulations to Seventh Ager Julianne Dawn; Fifth Ager Virginia Borg, the youngest girl to participate; and Ninth Ager Michael Edwards! Incoming Fifth Ager Davis Dawn also participated and was the youngest finisher ever.
Calvert School is a coed independent lower and middle school.
