Alumni & Reunion Weekend
Alumni & Reunion Weekend 2016 was a great success! The festivities began with the “Remember When” Luncheon for the Classes of 1923-1966 as well as Signature Society and Hillyer Society members. Head Master Andrew Holmgren, presented a brief State of the School and the featured presenter was Eighth Grade student, Talia K.
Each year, Eighth Grade students research and present on a topic of interest, and this year, Talia was chosen to present her project on YouTube. She shared the history of YouTube and explained the impact that YouTube has across the world. She ended her presentation by showing the attendees how she created her own YouTube video. Read more about Eighth Grade Castalia projects. A tour of the Lower School was provided following the luncheon.
On Friday afternoon, the sunshine appeared for the final lacrosse games of the season and the community-wide spirit tailgate. Many students, parents, and alumni came out to support the Sixth Grade Girls’ and the Boys’ A Lacrosse teams as they battled their opponents.
The weekend ended with the Alumni Cocktail Party and class reunion celebrations. Once again, the Cocktail Party was a great success where Calvert memories were shared and new ones made. Brooke Wheeler Rodgers ’91 spoke of her time on the Alumni Board and as Alumni Board President, and she encouraged alumni to get involved with the School. Head Master Andrew Holmgren and incoming Alumni Board President, Rachel Arnot Rockwell ’91 presented Brooke with a watercolor painting of the Lower School as a thank you for her leadership. Reunion celebrations for the Classes of 1941, 1951, 1981, and 1991 followed the Alumni Cocktail Party.
