Our Lower School Counselor, Tracy Hannah, works both proactively and reactively to assist students, families, and faculty members. In the Lower School, classroom guidance lessons are implemented in Pilot Class through Tenth Age, addressing social and emotional needs. Lessons address issues such as social skills, conflict management, teasing, and character education. In addition, individual and small group sessions are available to all students on an as-needed basis.

Our Middle School Counselor, Terri Merwin, provides support for our students and families in several ways. The primary vehicle is the advisory program, which allows students a biweekly timeframe to connect with a small group of their peers and an adult. Advisory activities include those aimed at promoting friendship, teambuilding, and diversity. Issues such as sex education, alcohol awareness, body image, and cliques are addressed through special programs during the year. In addition, Eighth Graders complete CPR and First Aid Training. Mrs. Merwin is available to meet with students individually during their snack, lunch, and study hall periods.
