Our goal at Calvert is to integrate technology into our curriculum in a seamless and age-appropriate way. We equip our students with the skills necessary to succeed and excel in a 21st century learning environment.

In the Lower School, our Sixth through Tenth Age classes have dedicated technology time at least 30 minutes per week. Students learn basic troubleshooting methods, proper equipment use, Internet safety, visual mapping, typing, and a variety of other skills. They are exposed to the Microsoft Office Suite as well as to basic graphics programs and video editing software. Beginning in Eighth Age technology class, students use laptops which are stored on a mobile cart. Teachers take these carts to their classrooms so they can easily enhance Calvert's time-tested curriculum with technology integration.

Our Middle School students are required to purchase a laptop at the start of Fifth Grade. This one-to-one program allows our teachers to be more interactive with the children while enriching creativity and independent thought. Cyber safety and responsible Internet behavior are discussed at length during technology classes and assemblies. Students are expected to uphold the morals and values of Calvert and the broader community when using technology.
