Calvert Hosts First-Ever Event at Blakehurst

Nearly 30 Calvert alumni, parents of alumni, former faculty, and current and past grandparents attended a Calvert event at Blakehurst Retirement Community on Monday, April 1. Guests enjoyed drinks and appetizers in the Blakehurst Rotunda while reminiscing about their Calvert years.
Many of those memories were sparked by the pictures of our guests from their time at Calvert that were on display around the room, along with a Calvert football helmet and vintage football sweaters. It was a full house in the Blakehurst Theater where Head Master Holmgren provided an update on the School, shared a video highlighting Calvert “Then and Now,” and then took questions from the guests. We want to thank Elizabeth O’Connor, the director of marketing and sales, and the rest of the team at Blakehurst for sponsoring this wonderful event.

Thank you to Dodie Mower Anderson ’32, Anne Gibbs Bartlett ’75, Cary Barton, Kitsie Scarlett Burnett ’48,  Bill Fritz, Brucie Bordley Gibbs ’46, Ginny Gilner, Elly Thomas Hills ’50, Dixon Hills, Pierce Linaweaver, Karen Linaweaver, Bill McMillan ’47, Betty McMillan, Hill Michaels ’51, Peggy Otenasek, Patty Phillips, Dottie Wolff Phipps ’44, Anne Luetkemeyer Stone ’53, George Van Buskirk, Jean Van Buskirk, Charles Vlk, Gert Vlk, Ann Warfield, Eleanor Zell Weaver ’50, Al Weaver, Betsy Wilgis, Thomas Winstead, and Suzanne Wolff for attending the Calvert event at Blakehurst.
