Join us Thursday, May 6, at 6:00 p.m. for a conversation around Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion with André Robert Lee.

This thought-provoking virtual discussion will be anchored with a keynote from André, who will then pose questions to the community in a facilitated session, followed by breakout rooms with smaller focus groups. The evening will conclude with a final large group debrief and discussion. 

André brings a wealth of experience as a filmmaker, keynote speaker, consultant, writer, educator, and founder of Many Things Management. His entire career has been committed to building an army of change agents. He has worked with New York City Public Schools, The Ford Foundation, Miramax Films, Urbanworld, Film Movement, Diana Ross, BET, Universal, PBS, HBO, Sundance, Picturehouse, and Dreamworks.

André directed and produced The Prep School Negro, which has been on a worldwide tour over the past 12 years. He additionally served as producer on the documentary I’m Not Racist… Am I?

After receiving a fellowship in 2013, André directed and produced the 12-month series Life Cycles of Inequity: A Colorlines Series on Black Men. André also created The Election Effect for Paramount TV and Virtually Free, the story of incarcerated youth in Richmond, Virginia, which has won best short documentary at a few film festivals.

André serves as executive producer on his latest film, The Road to Justice, which documents the Civil Rights Tours he has led throughout the American South. He is in the process of developing a short documentary for Strayer Studies in partnership with Blackhouse (Sundance), which will be used in Strayer University online classes with an effort to bring lessons to real life.

André has been leading the cause for the development of a feature film or series on the life and times of Bayard Rustin.

Currently teaching filmmaking at Germantown Friends School, André has curated a film program for their middle and upper schools. André has also served as a professor of writing at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
