Four Fun-Filled Weeks of Summer at Calvert

Summer at Calvert was a huge success this season! Campers of all ages enjoyed a variety of themed activities in June. Themes included Art, STEM, Theater, and Sports.
Art campers created two-and three-dimensional projects that included painting, drawing, puppet making, and sewing crafts. At the end of the final week, campers involved in puppet making brought home adorable hand puppets to share with their families.

Theater students enjoyed fairy tale stories, improv sessions, and a singer’s workshop series. Campers acted, sang, and danced their way through the weeks!

STEM campers became the creators and makers as they used their imagination and skills to create hands-on projects with the help of their peers. Students built structures with popsicle sticks, tested boat buoyancy, made "modern" fossils, programmed with LEGOs, tested weight distribution, and used an electronic invention kit, the Makey-Makey.

Sports camp allowed students to engage and interact with their peers as they played a variety of games. Teamwork, collaboration, and good sportsmanship were practiced each week among all ages and students had a blast!

For our new and returning students, Ultimate Kids Camp was a great way to meet new friends and enjoy time together outside of the school year at Calvert. Each day students participated in crafts, science, movement, and games. For all campers, Kona Ice was the perfect treat to cool down on a hot summer day.

We hope all campers enjoyed their summer at Calvert and we hope to see them again next year for more fun in the sun!
