Young Alumnae Compete in Local High School Tournament

This week, five area schools participated in the first annual U.S. Squash Maryland Girls High School League Individual Tournament. Eight Calvert alumnae were among forty young women who played in the tournament, which was held February 5-7.
On February 7, Eva Finney ’16 (SPSG) and Kate Dowling ’15 (BMS) competed in the Division 1 Finals with Kate coming out on top. Both Kate and Eva were awarded a medal for their first and second place finishes. Kate was also awarded the league’s Most Valuable Player for the 2018-2019 season.

Congratulations to all of the young women who participated in this tournament, especially our young alumnae: Kate Dowling ’15, Caroline Insley ’15, Olivia Verbic ’15, Isabelle Zollinger ’15, Eva Finney ’16, Charlotte Smith ’17, Anna McAllister ’18, and Drue Otenasek ’18.

Next week, the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) 2019 Varsity Individual Squash Championships will be held at Meadow Mill Athletic Club. We’re excited to see our graduates’ continued passion for squash and look forward to cheering them on next week and beyond.
