They Went to Calvert First

Charlie Niccolini '17

Student and Performer
Charlie has loved being on stage since he was five-years-old. It all began at Calvert School when he stole the show as the turkey in the Thanksgiving play in kindergarten. Every year since then, he has performed in his school plays and really discovered musical theatre in Middle School. He has appeared as Will Parker in Oklahoma!, Donkey in Shrek, Danny Zuko in Grease, among other roles. He also performs in community theatres in Baltimore and recently appeared as Baby John in West Side Story at the Children’s Playhouse of Maryland. Charlie went on to attend Gilman School, where he was a member of the school’s a cappella group, the Traveling Men. He was selected as a member of the 2018 Maryland All State Junior Chorus and was a finalist in the NATS MD/DC District singing competition in the musical theatre category and qualified for the Sectional competition. In addition to acting and singing, Charlie takes ballet, jazz, tap, and hip hop classes, and plays the piano. He loves to travel, especially to NYC to see Broadway shows.
