ILP Launches June Summer Camps for Young Leaders
The Institute for Leadership & Purpose (ILP) is excited to launch two week-long Wayfinder camps in June for current and rising Middle School students.
These camps, entitled Wayfinder I and Wayfinder II have been developed in collaboration with our partners at Project Wayfinder. Each camp is an age-appropriate introduction to leadership development. Purpose formation is weaved into an interactive and exciting week of fun activities and memories. This is a wonderful entry point for leadership development.
Wayfinder I - Kid vs. Wild

Join us for five incredible days learning the art of survival, building leadership skills, and collaborating with peers to accomplish fun, rewarding goals. Using the outdoors as our classroom, our new Wayfinder I camp is the perfect entry point for a young leader. There will be team-building, communication, goal-setting, and of course plenty of action and laughs. Activities include campfire basics, GPS scavenger hunts, catapult design, shelter building, animal tracking, and off-campus trips to Lake Roland Park and the Maryland Zoo. Each day is grounded in foundational leadership skills outlined by our partnership with Project Wayfinder. Students will finish the week with increased leadership skills and experience.

Wayfinder II - An Amazing Race Through Baltimore History

Explore the amazing city of Baltimore, its history, and its people in this unforgettable five-day leadership experience. Our “Amazing Tour” takes students out in the field, learning firsthand about the incredible sites and stories of civil rights here in our city. We will visit neighborhoods, work alongside city change makers, hear from civic leaders, and walk away with a deeper appreciation for Baltimore’s civil rights history. Students will visit the Baltimore institutions such as the Reginald F. Lewis Museum, City Court, and Coppin State. Each day will include team-building games and fun scavenger hunts to keep the students moving. After Wayfinder II, students will have the knowledge, desire, and skill set to take action for social justice in their schools and beyond. Student leadership development will be guided by Project Wayfinder activities that will cultivate purpose in these young civic leaders.
