Bennett Espenshade ’20 Celebrates Golf Wins
Bennett Espenshade ’20 has spent the past year cinching his standing as a player to watch. Ranked third in Maryland on the Rolex American Junior Golf Association national rankings for all non-collegiate junior golfers, he placed first out of 42 in the Hurricane Golf Tour and first out of 25 in the UHY Prep Series - DC.
He was a Mid-Atlantic PGA Junior PGA Championship qualifier, where he tied for first out of 74. He placed in the playoff, which qualified him for the National Junior PGA Championship in Lexington, KY, where he finished 18th out of 144.
Other highlights from the year include playing #1 seed last year for Gilman as a freshman and representing Maryland in the Capital Cup, an annual Ryder Cup-style competition between Maryland and Virginia. His current handicap is +4.0.
Calvert School is a coed independent lower and middle school.
