Kendall ’18 & Lauren ’19 Steer Commit to Georgetown for Lacrosse

For Kendall ’18 and Lauren ’19, playing lacrosse with each other is second nature. The two first picked up a lacrosse stick around four or five and honed their skills with catch together in the front yard.
Over the years, they’ve developed an uncanny awareness of each other’s playing styles. “I play midfield, and she plays forward, so we’re working together and not competing against one another,” according to Kendall. “Sometimes I think she knows a move I’m about to do before I even do,” added Lauren.

When Kendall committed to Georgetown, Lauren remained open-minded to other schools, but ultimately, the chance to play with her sister was a major draw. “My decision was definitely based on the relationship with the coach, which was a huge part for me, but also how much they wanted me and wanted Kendall. We knew that we were going to play and that we could actually make an impact.”

For Kendall, her decision to attend Georgetown was based on the fact that, “It was everything I wanted in a school and checked every box. I love the coach, I love the team, I love the location of the school in DC, and I’m excited for their business program.”

As excited as they are for their next journey, Kendall noted, “It’s our last soccer season ever together,” with Lauren following up with, “and we’ve always played since we were little.” The ladies are currently 7-0, including scrimmages, and will face their hardest matches in the coming weeks. Still, the blow of their final soccer season together is offset by the excitement of their upcoming time on the same team as Division I athletes.
