Middle School students participated in Buckets for Broy on Friday. The three-on-three basketball tournament had 27 teams registered and was a festive day for the students after exams.
The event raises money for the Stephen C. Broy Memorial Endowed Scholarship at Towson University, which provides financial assistance to students who are pursuing a Physical Education/Teacher Education degree with plans to combine teaching and coaching in their careers. Contributing to this scholarship is a fantastic way to remember Stephen Broy, a graduate of Towson and former Calvert physical education teacher and coach who passed away from a heart attack in 2011.
The 2014 Buckets for Broy Tournament Champion was team “On Top of the World” consisting of Seventh and Eighth Grade boys. Congratulations to everyone who participated, cheered, and helped raise money!
