Students Give Back this Holiday Season

Calvert School donated over 400 toys to area families in need as a result of the 2016 Toy Drive, but Middle School students didn’t stop there. They also raised money for The Water Project.
During the annual Toy Drive, Calvert’s Middle School donated over 150 holiday gifts to Paul's Place, and the Lower School donated over 250 holiday gifts to the Hampden Family Center. Parent volunteers helped wrap all of the gifts for the Hampden Family Center and delivered the gifts to both locations. The drive was organized and led by teachers Anne McGraw, Shannon Cheston, and Becky Kinney.

"It felt good to be promoting the Toy Drive because we know we are helping others this holiday season" said Seventh Grade leader Farrell G. Another Seventh Grade leader, Gracie K. says “events like this are great because they bring big and little kids together to support great organizations like Paul's Place and the Hampden Family Center."

The following week, Fifth Grade students hosted a bake sale that raised over $300 towards their Water Project! This is in addition to the thousands of dollars they raised during the Walk for Water challenge on December 2.
