Eighth Graders are Taking “The Plunge”!

The Eighth Grade class is participating in the 2017 Cool Schools Plunge.
On Thursday, January 26th, the Eighth Grade will be participating in the 2017 Cool Schools Plunge, part of The Polar Bear Plunge, to support the Special Olympics of Maryland. Each student has been challenged to fundraise between $50 and $200 toward our Team Calvert fundraising goal, and may voluntarily decide to "plunge" into the Bay. Students and advisors will travel to Sandy Point State Park for this rewarding Day of Service to support a wonderful cause. To support Team Calvert, click here.

Eighth Grader Gib S. says “giving back is something that is really important in the Calvert curriculum and it is even more meaningful when it is driven by our peers.”

This initiative was inspired by Oliver Clark '20, his sister Sutton Clark, and their Team Sutton. Last year, Oliver and Team Sutton raised over $21,000 for the Special Olympics through the Polar Bear Plunge. To learn more about and support “Team Sutton” click here.

Faith C. of the Eighth Grade agrees “the Cool Schools Plunge is a great way to bring the community closer together, support the Clark family, and have a lot of fun.”
