Welcoming Fifth Graders with a Black and Gold Kickoff

Our Leadership Program has expanded for this school year. New leadership roles now include opportunities for photography, videography, and journalism. The Black and Gold Kickoff Recap is the first news story from our newest leaders. Students took to the field armed with cameras, drones, and their notepads to create a recap the Black and Gold Kickoff on September 15th.
Hello, Calvert Community! Last Friday, we had a football Dress Down Day and the Black and Gold Kickoff. Our new Fifth Graders were sorted into their teams, and Black beat Gold 5-3 in the Tug-Of-War competition. Individual scores are below:

● Fifth Grade girls beat Sixth Grade girls
● Fifth boys beat Sixth boys
● Seventh girls beat Eighth girls
● Seventh boys beat Eighth boys
● Faculty beat Eighth Grade
● Black faculty beat Gold faculty

Everyone had a wonderful time, and much fun, on a beautiful Friday afternoon. The faculty may have taken down the Eighth Grade THIS time - but they conveniently scheduled this Tug-Of-War while our football team was away at a game. We want a rematch! Our next big event is Calvert Spirit Day on Friday, October 20th to support Girls A Soccer and our Middle School Volleyball team.

Take a look at our first student-produced video from Friday's Black and Gold Kickoff event on our Facebook Page.
