Calvert School Hosts Baltimore Area Diversity and Equity Practitioners Fall Meeting

In attendance were representatives from, Friends of Baltimore, Boys’ Latin, McDonogh, Bryn Mawr, Garrison Forrest, The Park School of Baltimore, The Country School (Easton, MD) and representing Calvert School were Timika Tyson (Diversity and Inclusion Coordinator) and Sandy Sachar (Global Outreach Director). As a group, the area practitioners meet twice a year to discuss current issues of concern that are impacting our school communities, exchange ideas and resources, and promote upcoming professional development opportunities and student leadership programming. There are more than twenty schools involved in this network of professionals, which encompasses Independent schools from Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Howard County, Anne Arundel County and Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Later this school year, Calvert will also host the Baltimore Middle School Leadership Summit (February 2018) and the Middle School Student Leadership Diversity Conference (April 2018).
