Over $5,000 worth of food and other items collected for The Baltimore Hunger Project.
From October 23rd to the 27th, the Calvert School community contributed to our annual Fall Food Drive. We have managed to bring in over $5,000 worth of food and items for The Baltimore Hunger Project. We have partnered with The Baltimore Hunger Project over the past year for a number of days of service but this is the first year we have partnered with them for our food drive. Many children eat meals at school, but on the weekends they go hungry.

The Baltimore Hunger Project helps the children and families who struggle to have a reliable source of food. They do this by having volunteers send packages of healthy and nonperishable foods home with students. The foods are ready to eat without requiring heating or utensils, and aren't very heavy to ensure smaller students can carry them. Our Calvert community filled many brown bags with foods including applesauce, fruit snacks, and juice which fit the criteria. We are so pleased to be able to donate so much food to help those in need.
