Calvert School Hosts Alumni at Airbnb HQ in San Francisco
The alumni team from Calvert School traveled to San Francisco for a regional reception earlier this month. It was the first time Calvert had been on the west coast since 2010.
As one alumna said after the event "I will be thinking of Calvert more often after last evening. I will not be eating my Calvert cookie (see photo for silhouette child cookies) but keeping it as a reminder of all that Calvert imparted to me, and the fortunate children and youth who currently are being blessed with the same excellent education."
We were fortunate to be hosted by Andrew Schapiro '95, the Creative Director for Airbnb, at the beautiful Airbnb Headquarters and enjoyed our time in the Habana Vieja Room, which was modeled after an actual Airbnb home in Cuba. During our visit, Matt Buck '87, Head of Middle School, gave an update on life at Calvert and more specifically discussed the Middle School turning 15 this month. The group connected with new and old friends, asked questions about Calvert today, and shared memories from their days at the School.
