Ellen S. '18 Wins Gold Key at Scholastic Competition

Eighth Grade student, Ellen S., recently submitted her creative writing to the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards Northeast Region-at-Large competition. The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards is the nation's longest-running and most prestigious program for creative teens.
With the help of English teacher, Ms. Hazen, Ellen has been recognized for both of her submissions. First, Ellen’s short story titled “Broken” won a Gold Key for the Flash Fiction category, the highest award, and her poem titled “Modern Politics” won a Silver Key. Ellen’s short story will now move on to compete in the national competition against other young writers in Grades 7-12. Winners of the national competition will be announced later this month, and we wish Ellen the best of luck!
