Considering Calvert Day

Parents

President's Message

Dear Calvert Parents,

Welcome back to another school year! I serve as the President of our Calvert School Parents' Association (CSPA). The CSPA supports the faculty, staff, and administration and serves as an important liaison between the school and the parents. The CSPA enhances and coordinates many of the volunteer opportunities, oversees certain events throughout the year, and promotes school spirit.

Last year, the CSPA enjoyed many successes, including Taste at Calvert, Grandparents' Day, Used Uniform Sales, and Faculty & Staff Appreciation events. Thanks to the coordinated efforts of our parent volunteers — the CSPA is entirely a volunteer-run effort — we were able to donate $28,000 to the annual Calvert Fund at the end of the last school year.

I hope you will take the opportunity to browse the Parents’ section of the website and learn how you can get involved at Calvert School. Your involvement not only helps to make Calvert the wonderful place it is, but gives you a chance to meet other Calvert parents, faculty, and staff. Volunteers are needed for regularly scheduled jobs in the library, art room, and at athletic activities, as well as special events such as Taste at Calvert and Calvert Day.

Please be sure to check the CSPA page of the Calvert website for information on upcoming events and activities at the school. If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact me, or Carly Slagel, Coordinator of Alumni & Parent Relations, or anyone on the Parents' Association Executive Committee.

Have a wonderful school year!

Sincerely,
John DeLong
President, Calvert School Parents’ Association
