Summer QUEST

QUEST is part of the Middle Grades Partnership Program (MGP) that forges connections between public and private school communities. It is a student-centered and inquiry-based summer program that offers participants opportunities to broaden and deepen their sense of self and the world in which they live. Through engaging and challenging project-based learning, students will find and use information to produce meaningful results, solve authentic problems, and engage in deep learning surrounded by a theme.
MGP/QUEST is a five-week program from 8:15 A.M. to 3:45 P.M. that is FREE for rising Sixth Grade Calvert students and returning Seventh Grade & Eighth Grade Calvert students from last year's program.

*Monday, July 1 - Wednesday, July 3: Engineering Part 2
Monday, July 8 - Thursday, July 11: Space Travel and Exploration
Monday, July 15 - Thursday, July 18: Transportation Systems
Monday, July 22 - Friday, July 26: City Design and Architecture

*MGP/QUEST will be closed on Thursday, July 4 and Friday, July 5

Please note that MGP/QUEST will run four days a week (Monday through Thursday) for the weeks of June 24-27, July 8-11, and July 15-18. As noted above, MGP/QUEST will be closed on Thursday, July 4 and Friday, July 5. For our last week, July 22-26, the program will be open from Monday through Friday.

As a result of hands-on experiential learning, students will be empowered, resulting in real world skills such as resiliency, flexibility, persistence, empathy, and self-awareness. Academic skills will also be incorporated on a daily basis in an effort to maintain progress from the school year.

Calvert School has partnered with Hamilton Elementary/Middle School, and in addition to hosting both Calvert and Hamilton students for Summer MGP/QUEST, we will offer events and activities throughout the school year that foster this partnership.

Mr. McMahon will individually email parents of rising Seventh and Eighth Grade students who participated in MGP/QUEST last year.
