Summer at Calvert

Summer at Calvert seeks to foster all campers’ creativity, imagination, athleticism, and sense of community in a safe and familiar environment. There is something for all lower and middle school-aged children at Calvert in the summer.

Summer at Kiddie Calvert

A nine-week camp for Kiddie Calvert students only.
Indoor and outdoor activities, fun, friendships, and exploration! (Infants - 36 months)


Kiddie Calvert Camp offers a playful and an enriching experience for children. Campers will explore nature, art, science, and music. Each weekly session will focus on campers’ interests with such topics as Farm Fun and Community Helpers. Camps are from 8:00 - 5:30, Monday - Friday.


Infants - 23 Months $400.00 weekly
24 Months - 35 Months $375.00 weekly

A full-day camp for boys and girls. Open to current Calvert and non-Calvert families.

Summer at Calvert for children aged 3-6 will run for nine weeks beginning June 11 and ending the week of August 13, with the week of July 2nd and August 20th OFF. These programs will take place in the Lower School Kiddie Calvert classrooms and will allow students to explore the arts, literacy, sports, and science with hands-on, engaging activities based on weekly themes. This program is open to Calvert and non-Calvert families. Extended day options are available for an additional fee.

Choose your own adventure! Pick two camp activities per week from the options below to create a full day experience. Extended day options are available for an additional fee.

  • For Campers 7-13: Week 1 (June 11- 15)

    Art Campers will have the opportunity to create a variety of fun and exciting two and three-dimensional art projects using paint, paper maché, ceramics, tie-dye and more!

    STEM Students will become Makers and inventors through highly engaging, hands-on learning experiences with a focus on coding and maker activities! They will complete different activities throughout the day to develop their Maker and programming mindset and will be supported through the making process to encourage perseverance and problem-solving.

    Calvert Sports Camp is designed to maximize fun and teamwork each day. The campers will participate in a variety of games, activities, and sports including Kickball, Soccer, Whiffle Ball, Volleyball, Floor Hockey, Dodge Ball, Basketball, Ultimate Frisbee, Capture the Flag, and many more! It is a great way for younger and older children to work together on teams and be active over the summer! 

    Fairytale Theatre Workshop Is there a story you envision coming to life--perhaps in a different way than you’ve seen in movies? We’ll explore how the most beloved stories get transformed into theatre, and adapt fairy tales, legends, and other famous stories into performable pieces. We’ll also play plenty of theatre games!
  • For Campers 7-13: Week 2 (June 18 - 22)

    Sew Satisfying  – Join the makers movement! Learn basic hand and machine sewing techniques to mend your clothing or make something new. Projects include creating your own animal pillow, tote bag, and wall hanging quilt. This is a beginner’s level course. No sewing experience is necessary!

    STEM Hands-on, project-based learning is the essence of this engineering camp. Campers will work together to apply the engineering design process to a variety of fun projects, such as building bridges, designing roller coasters for marbles, creating houses that sustain natural disasters and much more. Campers will collaborate with each other to creatively solve problems through trial and error. By designing, building and testing, they will see that one problem can have many solutions. Campers will apply what they know about science and math to find solutions to real-world problems in creative ways that are all camper generated.

    Calvert Sports Camp is designed to maximize fun and teamwork each day. The campers will participate in a variety of games, activities, and sports including Kickball, Soccer, Whiffle Ball, Volleyball, Floor Hockey, Dodge Ball, Basketball, Ultimate Frisbee, Capture the Flag, and many more! It is a great way for younger and older children to work together on teams and be active over the summer!

    Improv Workshop Got an ache in your funny bone to perform comedy? Improv workshop will teach you how to put your spontaneous ideas into action as you perform this exciting group theatre genre. Activities include theatre games, improv exercises, pantomime, and an introduction to sketch comedy. No acting experience necessary.
  • For Campers 7-13: Week 3 (June 25 - 29)

    Puppet Making You could be the next Jim Henson! Learn the basics of puppet making from creation to manipulation. In this course, campers will develop a character concept, complete a foam and rod puppet, and take home their new friend at the end of the week. Basic machine and hand sewing skills are a plus, but not necessary to enroll.

    STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math, and during this week your child can expect to learn a lot of different aspects of these fields through hands-on activities. These include building structures with popsicle sticks, boat buoyancy testing, making "modern" fossils, programming with LEGOs, weight distribution testing, using invention kits like Makey-Makey, and learning definitively how to construct the most aerodynamic paper airplanes, to name a few! Campers will have the opportunity to learn about many important and engaging topics in STEM in a fun and exciting environment at Calvert School.

    Sports Camp is designed to maximize fun and teamwork each day. The campers will participate in a variety of games, activities, and sports including Kickball, Soccer, Whiffle Ball, Volleyball, Floor Hockey, Dodge Ball, Basketball, Ultimate Frisbee, Capture the Flag, and many more! It is an excellent way for younger and older children to work together on teams and be active over the summer!

    Baseball Camp The coaches will work with the children on individual baseball drills (proper footwork, throwing exercises, and catching techniques) in a safe and fun environment. During the week, the coaches will split the groups up into fair and balanced teams. These teams will play coached-pitched games as the week progresses. Additionally, the coaches will cover all aspects of the game including proper base running, pitching instruction as well as working with each child on a proper batting approach that fits them the best.

    Singer’s Studio Work with an experienced classical singer and jazz vocalist on both solo and ensemble repertoire. Many genres will be covered, including musical theatre, folk songs, choral and world music. Singers will work on technique, musicianship, style, and presentation. In addition to singing, we’ll get to know the repertoire and the impact of some of the most legendary singers.

Ultimate Kids Camp

Calvert students only, rising Fifth & Sixth Agers.

Each day is centered around a theme with corresponding activities, for example, Super Hero Day, Pajama Day, or Wacky Wednesday to name a few. Campers will participate daily in arts and crafts, science experiments, outdoor games, and team building activities. Ultimate Kids Camp is a great way for students who are new and returning to Calvert to become familiar with our school and make new friends before the fall. U.K.C. is the place to be this summer!

  • If you are a Calvert family, you will NOT need to create a new account. Simply click on the link and enter your MyCalvert user name. Your credentials from your Calvert account will carry over. If your child attend Kiddie Calvert or you are new to Calvert , please create a new Log-In account.
  • Make sure you fill out a registration form for each child.
  • Camp payments are due in full and no refunds will be allowed. Programs are first come, first serve and we cannot accommodate any changes.
  • You may return to the site at any time to review account information and registration.

  • Do you offer refunds?

    No, Calvert will not offer any refunds for any reason. All camp payments are final sale.
  • Do you offer transportation to and from camp?

    Calvert does not offer transportation to and from summer programs.
  • Does Summer at Calvert provide before and after care?

    Yes, an additional fee is applied depending on your program. The fees cost between $50-100 per camper per week. 
  • How do I register for camp?

    1. For infants – 36 months, current Calvert families can register on our website using the link above.
    2. For campers aged 3 – 13, you can register using the link above which will take you to our camp registration page. Please read all instructions carefully

  • Where are the camps located?

    Camp for 3 – 6-year-olds will be held in the Kiddie Calvert wing, a part of our Lower School. Students should be dropped off and picked up at 105 Tuscany Road, Baltimore, MD 21210.

    Camp for 7 – 13-year-olds will be held at our Middle School. Students should be dropped off and picked up from 4300 N. Charles Street, Baltimore, MD 21218.
Calvert School is an independent lower and middle school with a curriculum that is designed to challenge capable boys and girls.
