The Day-To-Day of Students at Calvert School

A student's day at Calvert School is well-balanced and full of purpose, concentration, curiosity, and exuberance. We encourage children to develop a love for learning, grow skills they can use for a lifetime, and understand the world around them.
Our teachers are passionate about academic subjects, fine arts, athletic sports, extra-curricular activities, and technology. We transfer this passion to students so they can develop a love for learning, face challenges with confidence, and become productive members of their communities.

Nutrition and Lunches

At Calvert School, our private school lunch programs are reviewed by a nutritionist monthly. We ensure we provide a balanced diet and serve child-friendly foods. When available, we purchase produce from local farms. We aim to have children discover healthy ingredients and meals they love.

Twice a year, a nutritionist works with our Middle School health classes. They discuss the importance of nutrition, proper diets for athletes, and healthy body images for adolescents.

Grounds and Campus

Calvert School is located in the Tuscany-Canterbury neighborhood of Baltimore, Maryland. Our beautiful campus features spacious greenery with several gardens where students learn about nature, water conservation, recycling, and alternative energy sources at an early age.

We have a large, multi-purpose field between our Lower and Middle Schools, and we have another field for the Middle School's football games. Our other athletic facilities include three on-campus gymnasiums and the Luetkemeyer Athletic Center.

Inside, we equip our classrooms with the finest technology and state-of-the-art equipment to facilitate the best learning environment possible.

Class Schedules

Generally, our Fifth Age through Tenth Age classes occur from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Our Fifth Grade through Eighth Grade classes take place from 8:15 a.m. to 3:05 p.m.
