Graphic Design Intern
Calvert School, an independent lower and middle school, is searching for a Graphic Design Intern. Calvert School is dedicated to educating girls and boys through its time-tested method of teaching and its rigorous curriculum. Particular emphasis is given to mastering essential skills, inspiring a lifelong love of learning, and instilling enthusiasm, responsibility, and self-discipline. Calvert School is located in Tuscany-Canterbury, a residential neighborhood in Baltimore City, just north of Johns Hopkins University and south of Loyola University Maryland, accessible from Charles Street and I-83.
The Marketing and Communications Department at Calvert is a small, but busy department and the successful candidate will gain hands-on experience and will be able to work on many planned projects. The Intern will work under the direction of the Multimedia Specialist and will assist with the development and design of various collateral including event materials, web banners, social media imagery, photography and videography projects, and more.
This is a paid internship that will be available for the fall semester of the 2019-20 school year. It will require 10 to 15 hours per week and work schedules can be created around college schedules.
The ideal candidate will be an undergraduate student in a graphic design or multimedia program. Below a list of skills required:
- Adobe InDesign and Illustrator
- Google Slides, Docs, Sheets
- Working knowledge of social media platforms and a social media strategy
- Strong organizational skills
- Possess an eye for clean impactful design; ability to do graphic design
- Skills in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premiere are a plus
