For more than a decade, Kiddie Calvert has faithfully nurtured children within the Calvert School community, guiding them from their first steps to their first day of kindergarten. Now, Calvert School is extending its program to include families throughout the Baltimore community. Kiddie Calvert at Cross Keys is a child care and early learning center that will serve families in Baltimore, Maryland, starting in August 2021. Specializing in the care of infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children, our program is designed to build confidence, independence, and academic interest in our boys and girls, preparing them to succeed in kindergarten and beyond. The center will be located on Falls Road and is accessible from I-83 between Northern Parkway and Cold Spring Lane.
Calvert School is looking for a Director of Child Care to start immediately. The Director will work under the supervision of the Director of Early Childhood Education, and this will be a 12-month position, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
The Director will be responsible for the overall management of the day-to-day operations of the child-care program. The Director will work to develop programs and strategies for the coordination and promotion of quality child-care services. The Director will play an integral role in the hiring of staff members and will work with the teachers and staff to create programs and learning plans.
Qualified candidates will have a bachelor's degree from a four‑year college or university in early childhood education. Prior management experience is preferred. Candidates must meet the State of Maryland, Office of Child Care, and other licensing regulatory agencies requirements and have demonstrated skills establishing effective relationships with staff, parents, and children. This position requires the ability to multi-task, and candidates must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
