Calvert School, an independent lower and middle school, is searching for a Fourth Grade (Tenth Age) Teacher for the 2022-23 school year.  Calvert School is dedicated to educating girls and boys through its time-tested method of teaching and its rigorous curriculum.
Particular emphasis is given to mastering essential skills, inspiring a lifelong love of learning, and instilling enthusiasm, responsibility and self-discipline.  Calvert School is located in Tuscany-Canterbury, a residential neighborhood in Baltimore City, just north of Johns Hopkins University and south of Loyola University Maryland, accessible from Charles Street and I-83. 
 
In addition to managing the daily affairs of a homeroom including parent communications, teaching responsibilities will include Reading, Mathematics, Composition, Grammar, Spelling, History and Geography.  The teacher will work with a team of 10th Age teachers and attend regular team meetings.  In addition to teaching, faculty members are also expected to contribute to the Calvert community as coaches, club advisors, and serve on school committees on occasion.
 
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree with prior teaching experience. A master’s degree is preferred. Candidates must have excellent writing, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
