The Class of 2016 graduated this morning at a beautiful ceremony held just before the rain came. Achievements in academics, arts, and athletics were recognized, and diplomas were distributed to the students. Addison Thompson ’12 presented the charge to the Eighth Grade and Head Master Andrew Holmgren made remarks. Both encouraged students to not become complacent and to challenge themselves at their new schools and beyond.
In celebration of their graduation, students and their families also gathered last night at the annual Dixon Dinner. After dinner in the Middle School Atrium, Head of Middle School Matt Buck ’87 spoke to our young “Jedi” about all they have accomplished in this “galaxy far, far away.” A slideshow, a student performance, and gifts to the graduates culminated the evening.
At graduation, the students sang “We’re Going Far From Calvert” to end the ceremony, but we hope they will always stay connected to Calvert School. Congratulations Class of 2016!
