John, Andy, and Emma will share their insights on Greenspring Associates’ summer analyst program and working in the venture capital field.

 

Greenspring Associates is one of the largest venture capital investment firms in the world and is currently managing $12 billion in assets across fund, direct, and secondary investment strategies. The firm has over 130 employees with offices in Baltimore, Palo Alto, London, and Beijing.

 

Greenspring Associates was founded in 2000 and has been actively investing in venture capital partnerships, direct company investments, and secondary market positions through its fund vehicles.

 

John Avirett '95 is a general partner at Greenspring Associates and is responsible for sourcing and due-diligence efforts on fund, direct, and secondary investments. He is also actively involved in the firm’s Portfolio Impact Program, which is focused on maximizing Greenspring’s human and enterprise capital contributions to general partners and portfolio companies through strategic introductions to potential customers, executive talent, corporate partners, investors, acquirers and service providers, support in fundraising and capital management, operational and strategic guidance, the evaluation of product-market fit, and more.

 

Andy Jones is a venture partner at Greenspring Associates, where he brings nearly 20 years of experience in the venture capital industry to sourcing and due-diligence efforts on fund, direct, and secondary opportunities. Emma Sun is a full-time analyst at Greenspring Associates and previously completed the company's internship program.
