Q & A with Isabelle Webster '13

Isabelle Webster ’13 traveled to London, England this summer to take classes at the London School of Economics. Below is an excerpt from our Q & A about her experience.
Can you tell me a little bit about the program?
I studied in London, England for three weeks taking International Relations course at the London School of Economics.

What is your favorite memory from your trip?
My friends and I took a day trip via train to the White Cliffs of Dover and had a picnic overlooking the water. It was a great change of pace from the hustle and bustle of the city.

What was the biggest takeaway from your trip?
I learned a lot about the relationship between the economic and political spheres and how the two coexist. I also learned a lot about myself and became more independent.

Now that you’re home, what do you miss about the place that you left?
London was an extremely unique city and I am always going to be grateful for the opportunity to have explored it with some of my best friends.

What would be a “must see” for a first-time traveler to London?
If you do not do anything else you need to go to Camden Market. It was the one place that I visited where I felt had the most character and there was something new to discover around every turn. You also should also see a live musical show.

If you are a college student and traveling abroad for a term or semester, please let us know so we can profile your experience.
