Game Recap #3

Daryl S. Solee
For the season's third game, the Calvert Bees Boys Soccer team took the field to battle the Mighty Moose from Jemicy.

The first half was a challenging one for our boys. We controlled the possessions but struggled to finish in the final third, and Jemicy managed to take the lead 1-0 with an unfortunate cross that caught our defense off guard. However, that setback woke our team up, and just before halftime, we managed to level the score at 1-1. It was an impressive headed goal from our 7th-grade Center-back that brought us back into the game.

The second half was a different story as the Calvert boys played tremendously; they perfectly executed our formation. In an incredible display of teamwork and skill, we scored an impressive five goals during the second half. Notably, two 7th graders made their mark on the score sheet, and our 8th-grade captain caught fire with a remarkable hat trick.

Our defense was equally impressive, as they held Jemicy scoreless throughout the second half. Our goalie and 8th-grade center-back displayed outstanding leadership, leading and placing their backline into the correct positions to keep the second half clean sheet.

We couldn't be prouder of the hard work and dedication our boys have put into this season. It's been a fantastic journey so far, and the coaches and I are excited to see their continued growth and success on and off the field.

Next up, Calvert will be playing Cathedral at home on Krongard Field. Kickoff is at 3:30. We invite all of you to come out and show your support for our talented team. Let's cheer them on to another victory.

Go Bees.
