Fifth Graders Win Stock Market Game

On Wednesday, May 17 at Towson University’s SECU Arena, the Maryland Council on Economic Education hosted a luncheon for all award winners of the Stock Market Game, an educational simulation that teaches about the stock markets, the American economic system and the global economy. One of Calvert’s Fifth Grade teams won first place for the North Central Region. Congratulations Chloe T., Bennett E., Jack A., James C., and Le’La G.!
Mrs. Delin’s Fifth Grade math class participated in the Stock Market Game this year. They were split up into groups and created a stock portfolio. Each week they analyzed the stocks and made trades through the game, which helped them develop skills in math, language arts, research, and critical thinking.
