ILP

The Institute for Leadership & Purpose (ILP) uses the power of experiential and reflective learning to inspire tomorrow’s leaders to impact their communities and the world.

Grounded in Calvert School’s mission, the Institute offers students and teachers an opportunity to unite with community partners, engage with civic leaders, explore meaningful outreach, and leave behind a legacy of partnership, leadership and innovation in Baltimore and beyond. Our goal is clear – a commitment to raise students to be leaders with a purpose.

Jay Parker
Director of the Institute for
Leadership & Purpose

Welcome from Jay Parker
“At The Institute for Leadership & Purpose we help students cultivate a sense of self and purpose. As Dr. Bill Damon of Stanford University attests, people with “a stable intention that is meaningful to self and beneficial to the world” lead more fulfilling and impactful lives. Whether working collaboratively on a class project or driving social change alongside a public school partner, students experience a myriad of opportunities offered by the ILP. Ultimately, our programs reaffirm our promise of a Foundation for a Lifetime, and connect Calvert to Baltimore and the world.“
