Congratulations to the Honorable Cathy Chen '87

Governor Larry Hogan announced his judicial appointments in early June; Cathy Chen '87 was one of those appointees.
Cathy has worked as a prosecutor in the Baltimore City State’s Attorney’s Office since 2014 and is filling a vacancy on the Baltimore City District Court. She was sworn in as a judge for Baltimore City on June 21; an Investiture Ceremony was held on September 14. 
 
Prior to joining the State’s Attorney’s Office, Cathy worked as a staff attorney at the House of Ruth Domestic Violence Legal Clinic and as a staff attorney at the Maryland Crime Victims’ Resource Center, Inc. While in New York City, she worked for The Legal Aid Society’s Juvenile Rights Practice. She was an attorney with The Legal Aid Society for four years representing juveniles in delinquency and child abuse and neglect cases.
