Calvert @ St James

Another big win for Calvert, this time on the road. Dealing with slightly wet conditions didn't slow us down, as Tobin scored twice within the first seven minutes to build up a lead we wouldn't relinquish. The first goal was brilliant run down the goal line with a cheeky outside of the foot finish at the near post. The second was a cracker from outside the box that the keeper had no chance of stopping. With those two goals, she also pulled into a tie for the all time goal scoring record here at Calvert with 18 career goals. The rest of the half saw great play with some impressive passing, but we never quite got the finish we were looking for.
In the second half, it was a reverse of the first. We spent the first twenty minutes or so looking like the dominant side but not scoring. Then, in the final five minutes, we struck twice to double our lead. The first goal was a beautiful finish by Ulz from outside the box as Murphy passed it back to her and she used the first touch to put it in the back of the net. The second came right at the final whistle as we were given a corner. It bounced around a bit within the box before Walton got a strong foot on it and finished the game in style. Great work everyone!
