Tel est pris qui croyait prendre!

Another home game and another beautiful afternoon at Calvert. The bleachers were packed as our Bees were hosting Cathedral School. It was the last home game for some of our 8th graders. We were warn that Cathedral plays a very physical soccer.
The first minutes were disputed with a goal for each team. But the Bees' tactic eventually payed off and the score at the half was 3-1.
Following the philosophy of Liverpool and the Olympique de Marseille this season, Calvert is playing "gegenpressing". According to Wikipedia, Gegenpressing is "a constant pressure on the opponent to attempt to immediately win back possession rather then falling back". The pressure gives the Bees possession, and it end up being a good response to the physicality of Cathedral.
Cathedral proceeded in a tactical change at half and tried to add up more men in the midfield, but it  eventually created more scoring opportunities for Calvert after each loss of ball. At the end of the second half, the Bees have added 3 unanswered goals.
The Bees can be proud of their game, specifically because they kept playing soccer the entire game and did not fell into the provocations of their opponents.
It showed a great maturity.
Well done Bees!
