Calvert @ SPSG

In one of our best performances of the season, we came up short of a win, but put up a good fight. The first half proved that both sides had a lot of talent and it was going to take something special for either team to pull out a win. Neither team was able to score a goal, and our keeper Staley made a nice save near the end of the half to keep it that way.
At the halftime break we tried to make a few adjustments, but Saint Paul's came out firing. Despite Athey, our second half goalie, making a few fantastic saves, including one diving to her right, St Paul's was able to get on the board by lofting one over the keeper into the top left corner. It was a wonderful strike that gave the keeper no chance. Not too much later, a second wonder strike from outside the box doubled the deficit. We were never able to get enough possession in the midfield to mount a strong counter, but the girls played their hearts out and played very well against a formidable opponent. With no more games this week, we'll take Friday to train before having three in a row next week. Hopefully we can recover and start a new win streak!
