Mighty Bees Dream BIG: Support Calvert This #GivingThroughsDay

Calvert School joins thousands of nonprofits participating in Giving Tuesday, a worldwide fundraising effort, tomorrow, December 1, as we kick off a month-long celebration of philanthropy and community. Dubbed #GivingThroughsDay, this effort expands the reach of Giving Tuesday with the goal of reaching 150 donors by December 31.
If 50 donors contribute any amount tomorrow, December 1, a generous anonymous donor will contribute an additional $10,000 to support our students’ most urgent needs — and every dollar counts.

“We recognize this has been a challenging year for many, and we are very sensitive to the current climate,” Calvert Fund Director Lauren Murphy said. “Giving to Calvert – at any level – shows our donors are passionate about our programs and want to help our students and teachers thrive. Every dollar is valued and makes a difference.”

No matter the amount, each generous contribution will directly benefit Calvert students through issues donors feel strongly about, including academics, athletics, financial aid, and diversity initiatives, providing students with the resources and opportunities they need to dream BIG.

“Giving through Calvert means supporting our students and ensuring our programs thrive,” Mrs. Murphy said. “We understand our donors have diverse passions and value the unique elements that define a Calvert education. This year, donors will have the opportunity to designate their support to one (or more) of seven areas of focus.”

Are you eager to help students master confidence, empathy, and communication as they grow into young leaders? Funds given through the Institute for Leadership & Purpose help provide our Middle Schoolers with ample opportunities for experiential learning, enrichment, and community outreach.

Do you love cheering for the Mighty Bees as they sprint to victory on Krongard Field? Gifts to athletics ensure that our Hoppers, Crickets, Crows, and Canaries – and, of course, our Mighty Bees – learn sportsmanship through robust athletic programming.

Are you passionate about supporting our top-notch teachers? Calvert’s faculty and staff have gone above and beyond for students during this challenging year, and donations to this cause ensure that Calvert School recruits and retains the high-quality teachers at the heart of our community.

Donors can contribute to Calvert School’s Giving Tuesday and #GivingThroughsDay goals by visiting our online drive, making a gift of securities, giving to Calvert through @CalvertSchool on Venmo, or by emailing Calvert Fund Director Lauren Murphy at lmurphy@calvertschoolmd.org.

Remember: If 50 donors contribute with any amount tomorrow, December 1, an anonymous member of the Calvert community will gift an additional $10,000 to support students’ most urgent needs.

Consider including Calvert School in your year-end giving plans to help provide the exciting opportunities and vital resources that inspire our boys and girls to dream BIG.
