Alumni

President's Message

Welcome from the Calvert School Alumni Association! My name is Clemmie Miller, Calvert Class of 1981.

I am thrilled to begin my two-year term as President of the Alumni Association Board of Governors this year. My vivid memories of being a Calvert student provide a constant source of joy and gratitude, and being on the Board is a truly fulfilling way to stay connected to the school that gave me such a wonderful foundation. It is my hope that our alumni programs can provide you with engaging opportunities to maintain a connection to Calvert School as well.

My son, Ramsey Kissack ’21, is entering the 6th Grade at Calvert this year. Last year, we watched him embrace the transition from the Lower School to the Middle School. Ramsey felt his world expand and grow while he still enjoyed the comforts of school traditions and faculty support. It was a very positive experience. To me, and to many of my (still!) close friends who were at Calvert with me, this rings such a resonant bell. We know that, in addition to the camaraderie gained from shared experiences and the fun we had, the critical skills we acquired at Calvert have profoundly shaped our professional lives.

As President, I have a few goals that I would like to share with you. This year, we will highlight the alumni reunion program to encourage alumni to participate and celebrate these wonderful milestones. Calvert has an incredible group of alumni, spread across the globe. Our reunions offer us all the chance to share our life experiences and to grow the bonds which connect us. Other alumni events provide the opportunity to strengthen these bonds and develop means of putting our unity to good use.

In addition, an overarching goal for the coming years is to develop strategies to stay better connected with each other, to assure all alumni are informed of the upcoming alumni events and activities. We want our communications to be effortless and natural for all of us. To this end, please keep Calvert up-to-date with your latest contact information, as well as with what is happening in your life, by contacting Carly Slagel, Director of Alumni Relations.

If you find yourself on Tuscany Road, come in for a visit. You’ll be inspired by the new and nostalgic for the past. This is our school, and you are always welcome! I’m excited about the next two years, and what they hold for us as we partner to strengthen and grow our Alumni Association. I look forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas.

Very warm regards,

Clemmie Miller ’81
