President's Message

Welcome from the Calvert School Alumni Association! My name is Rachel Arnot Rockwell, graduate of Calvert Class of 1991. I am excited to begin in my the role as President of the Alumni Association Board of Governors at Calvert School this year. Calvert holds a truly dear place in my heart. Many of my closest friends, fondest memories, and critical skills are attributed to my time at Calvert. Being on the Board is my way of staying connected and grateful for a place that gave me so much. It is my hope that through our exciting alumni programs, we can provide you with opportunities to be connected in new ways with Calvert as well.
I celebrated my 25th Calvert reunion this May. People often gasp and ask, "You're celebrating your elementary school reunion?" And here's what I left thinking that evening. Once upon a time we were five and six year olds, a school helped raise us into what's now called our "tween" years. Since then, we've been further educated, taken on new careers, new families, new almost everything. Getting back together with Calvert alumni is like getting to be yourself as a child again. These people know and understand you in a way none of the "new" really will.  It's comforting and refreshing all at the same time.
Calvert has an incredible group of alumni, spread out all over the world. We all know something about each other even if we've never met. The Alumni Board offers you the opportunity to build on that comfort and bring Calvert friends into your new life. It's why we have reunions for our elementary school! There are many ways to get involved with Calvert School and the Alumni Association from wherever you are. Attend a Regional Event, give to the Annual Fund, play golf in the annual Calvert Classic, celebrate at the Alumni Weekend cocktail party, post a message on the Calvert School’s Facebook Page, or nominate yourself to be a member of the Alumni Board. Visit the Alumni Events section to see this year's schedule of events and be in touch if you have an idea for another event. Please keep Calvert up-to-date with your contact information, as well as with what is happening in your life, by contacting Carly Slagel, Coordinator of Alumni & Parent Relations.
Furthermore, if you do find yourself on Tuscany Road, come in for a visit. You'll be inspired by the new and comforted by the old.  This is our school, and you are always welcome!
