Do-Do-Do, Da-Da-Da!

 

Hello, beekeepers!!

Why did The Police inspire our game summary? Because it was a do-or-disappear game! Jemicy and Calvert were both undefeated in league play, and the winner would earn a BYE in Monday’s playoffs. With school closed Monday, the shadow of a forfeit was looming!

Our Bees may look gentle in black and gold, but don’t let the stripes fool you. Relaxed in preparation, dangerous when it counts!

Jemicy packed the midfield, making every possession a battle. A few shots, no real danger, and 0–0 at halftime.

In the second half, we attacked the wings and sent more balls into space. Chances came… but so did saves, a goalpost, and offside calls! The Damocles’ sword was hanging over us, and every lost ball threatened a counterattack — and a return to the dreaded forfait scenario.

But with heavy legs from a hard-fought game and lingering ILP fatigue, the Bees found one last sting! With just three minutes left, a ball through finally did the job. Buzz, sting, GOAL!

We asked the players to give it everything and do-do-do the right thing. Now they can sing da-da-da!

But not for long… the semifinal is next week. Time to do-do-do it all over again if we want to keep singing!
