Counseling

Our Lower School counselor works to assist and support students, families, and faculty members. In the Lower School, character education lessons are taught in Fifth Age through Tenth Age, addressing social and emotional needs. Lessons address topics such as friendship skills, conflict management, respecting all, and understanding feelings. In addition, individual and small group sessions are available to students on an as-needed basis.

Our Middle School counselor provides support for our students and families in several ways. The primary vehicle is the advisory program, which allows students a biweekly timeframe to connect with a small group of their peers and an adult. Advisory activities include those aimed at promoting friendship, teamwork, and diversity. Issues such as sex education, alcohol awareness, body image, and cliques are addressed through special programs during the year. In addition, Eighth Graders complete CPR and first-aid training. The counselor is available to meet with students individually during their snack, lunch, and study hall periods.
