Alumni Explore the National Air and Space Museum

As a follow up to her virtual talk last month, Beatrice Matkovic Mowry ’73 hosted Calvert alumni for a tour of the National Air and Space Museum's newly renovated west wing. During the tour, alumni and guests experienced the surface of Mars in the Walking on Other Worlds exhibit. They observed Earth from the vantage point of the International Space Station Cupola in the Eye on the Wondrous World exhibit in the “One World Connected” gallery. Not to be missed: the Nation of Speed gallery with Evel Knievel’s motorcycle and Mario Andretti’s STP Hawk II formula one race car.
Also in attendance were classmates Betsy Baetjer '66 and Jack Orrick '66 along with Chet Carey '72, Liam Emmart '11, Stas Haciski '94, George Helfrich '78, Katie Augsburg Leimbach '84, Director of Development Sarah Walton, Leadership Gifts Officer Josie George Worthington '72, and Director of Alumni Relations & Stewardship Katie Wareheim '98.
