Calvert vs Harford Day

This game was against much better competition than the day before, but the scoreboard didn't reflect that! Despite playing a tougher team, we were firing on all cylinders and came away with a huge win. We started off the scoring early when Hemminger did a long throw into Filling who finished calmly. We doubled our lead just before the half time break when Sody picked up a deflected shot and finished it off herself.
The second half started off quickly when Filling had a great run down the sideline and gave a perfect cross into the box. Sody scored her second by throwing her body into the path of the ball and knocking it in. The fourth was an own goal that came off a wonderfully taken corner kick by Hemminger. Even though we didn't score it, the cross created enough danger to force the error. Finally, we got our last goal when Nye took a shot from distance and placed it perfectly for her first of the season. It was a very well played game against good competition and we'll have to be ready for them if we match up again later in the season.
